.Activities & Attractions
Golf
Two captivating 18-hole championship courses designed by Jay Morrish are
sculpted into the desert so golfers can tee off from the top of a boulder,
look out over fairways framed by ancient saguaros, and catch an occasional
glimpse of desert wildlife darting into the rough. (That’s given way to one
of the more colorful rules for playing The Boulders: if a coyote picks up your
ball and carries it off, you can drop a ball and play it from there.) Golfers
also appreciate the extensive practice facility at The Boulders Club to
sharpen their game before or after a round of golf. In addition, the resort
offers special vacation packages and golf programs like the innovative Women
To The Fore.
Tennis
The private country club features a tennis garden with eight plexi-cushioned
tennis courts and a separate pro shop, all enhanced by glorious views of the
desert surrounding The Boulders. A talented professional staff oversees
personal instruction and clinics, and can find partners for anyone seeking a
tennis game.
El Pedregal
One of the most appealing attractions at The Boulders is the resort’s
festival-style marketplace, el Pedregal. Just a short stroll from the main
lodge, it offers a variety of intriguing shops, restaurants and galleries with
art and other treasures that reflect the spirit of the Southwest. el Pedregal
also features the first satellite location of the famed Heard Museum of
Southwestern and Native American culture. The Heard Museum North offers
frequent lectures and demonstrations by regional artists, enhancing its
constantly changing exhibits of art, pottery, weavings and more.

fitness, the spa features an array of tempting choices to soothe the spirit,
challenge and pamper the body, and enrich the mind. What a perfect setting for
the forthcoming Golden Door Spa, inspired by North America’s premier
destination spa. The Sonoran Spa’s fully equipped Workout Center offers
fitness machines and free weights as well as cardiovascular equipment
including treadmills, rowing and step machines, and recumbent and upright
bikes. The spacious Movement Studio features a variety of fitness classes and
